Acquaintances, Friends And Enemies / myLot

We all of have three types of persons in our life. Some of them are our friends, some are close friends, some are just our acquaintances and some are our enemies. Last night I tried to count how many friends I have and how many acquaintances or how many.enemies. The highest number was of my acquaintances - those who I know, but who are not my friends. However they are not my enemies either. The second highest number was of my friends including my best friends. But I didn't remember who are my enemies. I thought of many persons, but none of them is my enemy. I recalled a saying, " If you don't have any enemies, you are a weak person." Do you agree with ?? Do you need to have enemies to be strong??

Keep your friends close And your enemies closer I keep my enemies really close and i mean much closer than any of them might think Separated by an ocean, but close enough to reach out and touch

Thank you. So far I know, I've no enemies. We sometimes meet and smile at each other, though we have different views on many matters. Having different views doesn't make us each other's enemies.

Nah I don't agree with that saying. Being strong is more about how you handle stuff than who dislikes you. Having no enemies just means you got along with people, and thats a good thing in my book.

Thank you. The person who said this to me was a man travelling with me in a train. He said if you don't have enemies, it means you agree with everyone who opposes you, that you don't have a stand. I don't agree with it. If anybody has a different opinion and they are free to have it. I have a stand on all matters and I don't change them. If a person doesn't agree with me, I don't agree with them either. How can I be weak!!??

I think if you don’t have any enemies you are just wise in your dealings with people. Or maybe something else, but not that you are weak. I probably have more acquaintances than anything either, but I am thankful I have many friends too.

Thank you. There are people here who have different opinions on different matters - political, social and others.If I find their opinion solid, I reconsider my view. If I find my opinion stronger, I stand by it and I don't change it. And even if we differ with each other, how can we become enemies. We both are free to have our opinions.
