Fright Night

The original 1985 movie is the best and just right for the spooky season. By the time the vampire in the movies says, “Welcome to fright night, for real," you are ready to head out the door. The film is about a teenager named Charlie Brewster who finds himself living next door to a vampire named Jerry Dandrige. His main problem is that no one will believe him. He finds help from a man named Peter Vincent, who is a horror movie actor, but first it brings comic relief. Vincent is reluctant to help at first because even though he shows horror movies on TV, he really does not believe there are such things as vampires. They tried to revive the interest in this film with “Fight Night Part II"; however, even though they brought back some of the original actors, they replaced the doomed vampire with his sister, Regine Dandridge, and the movie just didn’t get the same interest. I strongly suggest watching the original; it is a really good spooky film. Here is the trailer

The special effects look hilarious, but it also looks like good old fashioned campy fun. I’ll have to look for it online.

The 1985 one is still the best, no question. Peter Vincent was my favorite part, he made the whole thing fun and a little funny too. Part II never felt the same to me, so I just stick with the original every october.
