Remembering the Past

While taking a shower after my gym routine, my memory just brought me back to the good old days. I remember my mum tried her best to give me a present that I really wanted. When I was a little boy, just about the age when we try to learn new things like riding a bicycle, I alluded my mum to buy me a medium-sized bike. So, we had to wake up early to go to the nearest city which was about two hours by bus just to look for that bike suitable for my age. We scoured every store there was but all we saw was either a really big bike or something for little kids. None was available for that bike that I really wanted. So, my mum and my God mother decided to go to Davao City from Cotabato City that time. I didn't know how long was that trip that time. All I could remember was that my usual car sickness did not really occur surprisingly because of my excitement to get that bike. But when we reached the other city, it was still to no avail. I think it was really hard to find the bike size that I wanted. That time I wish we lived in the capital. But instead of buying that bike, my mum talked me into buying the bicycle with a side car instead.
Well, that bicycle with a side car became the first ever that we had in our small community. We had it rented for some kids who wanted to have a ride with it. It became a small business for me and my older brother. We made some money out of it.
What childhood story do you have?

That is such a lovely memory. Your mum really went the extra mile to make you happy, and it is nice that things did not end up badly even though you could not find the bike you wanted. The sidecar bicycle turning into a little business for you and your brother is a bonus! It is funny how something that started as a childhood wish ended up creating a way to earn money. Childhood memories like these really do stay with us.

Your mum going that far just to find you a bike is so sweet. The side car turning into a little business is funny, it worked out better than the bike honestly. My childhood memory is waiting at the gate every day for my dad to come home, those small things stay with you.
