Are you responsible enough?

The day I decided to be Danie's fur mom, I was 99% ready. Financially, emotionally, and mentally. I was 100% committed to being her mom, giving her everything that she needed. The right care, the right vet, the right food, the right toys, the best comfort she could ever need. Having a Bichon frise puppy was like having a new born baby in the house. I enjoyed it even if I had to wake up in the middle of the night and stay up late. Being a fur parent, is not as simple as what others may think.

So true and many people do not realize that sadly. It's not enough that you want a pet or that you love animals. Or that you think you only have to feed them, worst others even think table scraps are enough as long as they eat. People have to consider whether they can actually afford to take care of them. Food and toys are one thing, but being able to take them to the vet for vaccinations, routine check ups, when they get sick is just as important. And if you can't afford to care for more pets, you should also consider having them spayed or neutered. Otherwise, you'll just be adding to the number of stray or loose animals out there. It's not just about love, it's about being able to provide for their needs throughout their lives. Love is important, but love alone isn't enough if you don't have the means to care for them properly, it's the animal that would suffer. It's really all about responsible pet ownership. Your pet is lucky, but so many dogs and cats out there aren't just as lucky. I can relate to your experiences especially financially as I have 5cats right now, excluding some strays that I feed around our area.

It is a sad story that even those who have money would just get a pet coz they find them cute without actually caring if their personality suits that of the animal they're adopting or whether they are capable to truly care for them.

Aww a Bichon puppy really is like having a newborn, the late nights are no joke. You can tell Danie got the best of everything because you were so ready for her. Being a fur mom is way harder than people think but it's worth it.
