I watched Bullet Train Explosion. Everywhere I read it says this movie was a reboot, or a remake of the 1975 movie. But I really think it's more like a sequel because they mention of the bullet train in the 1975 movie and of who the bomber is in this movie. This movie is on Netflix. It is dubbed like the 1975 movie was. It is on Netflix. It has Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Jun Kaname, Kanata Hosoda, Machiko Ono, Daisuke Kuroda, Satoru Matsuo, and Hiroko Yashiki in it. Big Warning: there is a little bit of violence. Spoiler Below. In this movie, a bomber calls in the rail station crew saying there is a bomb on two trains. Like the 1975 movie, they let one of the trains explode. The bullet rain can't go below100 mph or the rain will explode. They think of genius way to safely move passengers. They disconnect one of cars of the train and get another train to connect to it. But a girl went missing. So some people went looking for her on the empty car. She announced she was the bomber. She also killed her father with a bomb planted in his house. Her father was a police officer in the 1975 case. He often talked about how he killed one of the bombers, but actually the bomber blew himself up. He also abused his daughter. She also said that her heart monitor is connected to the bomb. If she dies, the bomb will defuse. But no one would kill her, so the braced for impact. In the end, people were saved and the bomber was arrested and alive. I really liked this movie. I'm watching next the other remake with Brad Pitt called Bullet Train.

Was this based on a true story? It sounds a bit like the movie Speed, or Unstoppable..except Unstoppable didn't have a planted bomb on it. It was just an out of control train.

I think I saw it but didn't watch the movie. Don't think it's something I would enjoy.

Honestly I think you're right, it feels more like a sequel to me too. The way they tie the bomber back to the 1975 case makes it hit different. Hope you enjoy the Brad Pitt one, its a totally different vibe tho.
