It's Ladies Night - "Lady Blue"

Ladies, it’s your turn again, today with a tender, blue-eyed soul ballad courtesy of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame/Songwriter’s Hall of Famer Leon Russell. Fun Fact: Leon Russell helped The Gap Band get their professional career started - the band played on Russell’s 1974 album Stop All That Jazz. But we aren’t talking about that. “Lady Blue” was a hit song from Russell’s 1975 album, Will O’ the Wisp. The song reached the Top 20 (#14) on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached #44 in Canada. The song was covered by George Benson on his boffo 1978 live album, Weekend in L.A. Benson had previously taken Russell’s song “This Masquerade” to #10 in 1976. No drama, no reported stories about recording difficulty. Sometimes a great song is just a great song. Link is to the studio album version: https://youtu.be/GrOY579IVnE?si=i6hHXc6m0DKcWqFI
