L.A. Songs: Los Angeles

As I said yesterday, you’re not getting away from this just because I have a broken hand! Today we continue onward with the songs of Los Angeles, and you can’t get more “Los Angeles” than this. Los Angeles - X We have a song from an album called Los Angeles. And it’s by a band from Los Angeles. AND it’s about a movie star! (Farrah Fawcett). This was X’s (another band named that I’m surprised took so long to get claimed) debut, and wow did it make a splash. It legitimized west coast punk (which had previously been considered New York or London’s thing). Over the years, this album has received countless accolades. This song, in particular, was named of the “500 Songs That Shaped Rock ‘n’ Roll” by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Short, snotty, and to the point. Punk at its best.
