Hello fellow mylotters!! Hope is all well with everyone. October is Breast Cancer awareness month. I've heard about it, but until 2022, I wasn't effected by it until my sister got breast cancer and both of her breasts were removed, she went through chemo and radiation. So through her , I guess it prepared me,sort of for when I had my mammogram in 2025 and found out it was cancerous. Granted I only had two lumpectomies (removal of the cancer in the breast) and only had radiation as my treatment and now on a hormone blocker. So, now I take breast cancer seriously!! I try to spread the word of how important it is to have a mammogram done. I thought I was old when I was diagnosed , but one of my doctors said that they have 80 year old women who they've diagnosed. So you just never know!!
So, I try to wear something pink every day or a t-shirt that has a saying about breast cancer. I streaked my hair with wash out hair color that was pink. When I found out that my sister had cancer I got a tattoo that has a pink ribbon and cross and the Bible verse stating James 1:2-4 on my neck for her. I would like a tattoo for me, but just haven't found the right one.
Have you ever recognized something but when it happens to you it really hit home?
~Peace~

Thank you for sharing this, and I'm so glad you and your sister are both doing okay. Wearing pink and spreading the word about mammograms is such a good thing to do, because like you said you never know. Honestly yes, I never really thought about how serious health stuff was until it touched someone close to me.
