George is still looking for that song. I think he wants us to replace the microwave, though I am not entirely sure. I just spent the afternoon soaking the glass insirt that spins in circles. It's clean. Eventually I think we'll take care of the microwave, but it still runs and I don't want to spend money like it's water. Not if I don't have to. I won't lie, the microwave is old, and the digital display is dying. but it runs. And I use it daily. We can look at them though and see how hard inflation hit. I'm not worried about cost so much, because a microwave is something that gets replaced every few years, and this one has lasted us at least eight. We got it not long after moving into this house and we'll have lived here nine years this december.

If it works, it doesn't need replacing.

No, it doesn't. Plus the labor is the part I would not favor very well.

I am not a screwege. I spend money where it makes sense and don't sweat necessary bills. But, I need to justify it. I will happily help my husband if the money makes sense.

@2ndchances24 Mine forgets what we have. Then I have to remind him. Not his fault.

Eight years is a pretty good run for a microwave. I can understand not wanting to replace something that still works, especially with prices being what they are these days.

I agree with you on that one. I remember when we got ours, it was not fun and deffently not light.

I never liked microwaves I do quite well with my toaster oven but the cleaning part is the same the front screen is totally coated in all kind of grease or other gut the light works in the oven, it still cooks well so I keep on using it,

Yeah, I can understand that. I could use the oven for most things, but I don't think my back would agree. So, yeah I get it. Microwaves are something George and I perfer.

Honestly if it still runs and you use it every day, I'd keep it going too. Eight years is a good run for a microwave and cleaning that glass plate probably made it feel like new again. No rush to spend money on a new one until it actually quits on you.

Yeah I know. I have a feeling the digital lcd display will quit before it does.
