I'm still posting something though. We went to Walmart today, but I did not buy a microwave. I looked at them and found one that looks almost exactly like our current one. Our curent one runs so no microwave today. Though I would not have enjoyed putting it in the cart.
We still spent money. George got hiscoat hangers, I still got my snacks, and he found the treats I actually liked. He got himself his chips, too and we just ate cold chicken nuggets from McDonold's. All in all a fun day all around.
George wants to get fitted for reading glasses, because he says his current ones don't work as well. I have to pay out-of-pocket, but I won't be talked out of it. That's money we planned for, because we knew insurance is unpredictable and evil.

Good that you got what you needed at the store. Just asking what kind of glasses does George have for driving and why cannot they alos work well for reading? In other words I am a bit confuse as to why he needs two pairs?

He needs distance glasses for driving, and he needs readers for reading. Bifocols would've given both, but when he uses the walker, he's slightly huntched over. and I can tell you from personal experience, that it can distort your vision. And the person who fit him the first time and I both agree that might be dangerous. So we decided to have two seperate pair.

@kaylachan well, I hope he gets a reading pair then. Just asked because for me things are different I wear glassed for vision all the time but when I get into bed I take the glasses off and read without them since I can see all even the fine print and glasses distort the writing,

I can relate to George needing a new pair of reading glasses since I need a pair myself after I visit my eye doctor next week.

Yeah. I did a few years of the new glasses game, myself growing up.

Fridge still working is the main thing. My family is in the same boat where I live, a lot of people keep old appliances going until they actually stop, especially with the price of new ones. Cold chicken nuggets after a Walmart run is a very real lunch too.

Agreed. Just because we could pay for it doesn't mean we should. When we do eventually need it, we can pay for it outright and not sweat it. Complain about inflation like the rest of the world, but honestly I'm not bothered by it. It happens so slowly it is hardly noticable. I never stressed about terrifs either, because I'm not buying stores out right left and center. I buy what I need and move on.

I still wanted to look. Last thing I want, is for something to go wrong when we don't want it to.
