Matoa fruit has a sweet, rich flavor with a distinctive aroma and a taste profile reminiscent of a combination of longan, rambutan, and a hint of durian. I consider this fruit is one the best tropical fruit. It can be found in South Asia, South East Asia and Pacific. Unfortunately there is no large plantation of matoa. Most fruit in market come from trees that grown in small number around village.

I found it interesting and looked online to see if there’s a local name for it in our area. From my research, it’s called “Malugai.” However, I haven’t come across one here, so I’m not sure if this fruit actually grows in our region. I’d love to try it if I ever find one. We also have a similar fruit called lansones, but I think it’s different since they are distinct varieties. I believe they’re known as “Duku” or “Langsat” in your language. They’re much more popular and abundant in my country compared to the Matoa fruit.

I am glad you like it. I don't know what any of those things taste like, but I have heard durian tastes like custard.
