Ladies, I would bet the house I don’t own that at some point in your life, you’ve encountered the types of dudes this final song is about. London’s Lush originally made their bones as a dream pop/shoegaze band, led by guitarists/vocalists Miki Berenyi and Emma Anderson. By their 1996 album, Lovelife, the band had moved into more of a Brit pop direction. Despite the musical shift, “Ladykillers” performed well-enough, reaching the Top 40 in Canada, Scotland, and the U.K. While the song itself is about those “charming” guys out there trying everything in the book to pick up women, Berenyi has said that the second verse is about Red Hot Chili Peppers vocalist Anthony Keidis (Berenyi apparently didn’t care much for Keidis’ behavior during Lollapalooza 96,) while the third verse is specifically about Weezer bassist Matt Sharp. “Christ, this guy’s too much.” Link is to the studio album version:

120 Minutes used to play their videos. I'm not sure if stations like KROQ would have played them or not.

Sounds pretty good, a lot of those guys were stoned and wasted.I am not making excuses for them. Fat Mike has an extremely bad one on Youtube when he was like 23 and just so obnoxious and he is pretty wasted. Most people would be past out in a gutter if they did a quarter of the crap he did that day. That being said, just make amends Fat Mike always tried, but he was like going to do it again, but slowly through the years think he has tried to get better, he must have or he would not still be relevant.

@crossbones27 - Although there were some days that would have been hilarious if someone had videotaped it.

@teamfreak16 I’ve given up on todays music…im not trying to keep track ….i like a song to have a story , and I want a singer to be able to pronounce the words so that I can understand them.

There are so many genres and subgenres out there that it's hard to keep track of everything that comes along.

@thislittlepennyearns - That's what happens when you are musically-obsessed. Eventually you'll come up with something.

Love this pick, Ladykillers is such a good song and honestly still fits so well today. I never knew the second and third verses were about real people, that part is wild. Lush deserves way more credit than they get.
