Yesterday, it was 70’s classic rock. Today, it’s 80’s classic rock. It’s going to seem like it at times, but this is not a classic rock series. Yet here we are.
“Sing Me Away” is a single from Night Ranger’s self-titled 1982 debut album. Released as a single, it performed in the middle of the pack, or average, or “6-7.” It peaked at #54 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is just over halfway to #1. For some reason, I assumed the song was a bigger hit than that, probably because the video was on MTV all the time back then.
Anyway, since the band was actually called “Ranger” at the time, the record label had a bunch of records titled Ranger ready to ship.
BUT.
(There’s always a BUT.)
At the last minute, a country band from California called “Ranger” was discovered, so the band changed their name to Night Ranger after a song from the album. The Ranger albums were destroyed.
That’s the story, anyway.

You really know how to knock it out of the park here with music. I always feel so bad. I get so wrapped up in responding to comments and then don’t get to your posts for hours or days.
But look at me tonight or this morning rather. First comment lol

Remember back when articles on the Internet had big comment threads and inevitably someone would jump on it with "First" just for the glory (I guess) of commenting first?

@teamfreak16 Yes. People still do that silly crap on TikTok videos. I don’t know why they need to brag or announce or whatever that they are first lol.
Man. I am never going to have a regular sleep schedule again.

@thislittlepennyearns - Mine is so erratic. I was actually sleepy and yawning about four hours ago. Now I'm wide awake.

If any managed to survive they would probably be worth some kind of money.

I only know Night Ranger name. In the 80s, I was so into new wave that I missed the 80s regular rock.

It's possible you've heard "Sister Christian" somewhere at some point since then. Even if it didn't make an impression.
