Many of you enjoy TV sitcoms both classic and contemporary. For example, “MASH” is Four Walls’ all time favorite while April loves “The Big Bang Theory.” I’m not a sitcom person. As a kid, an occasional episode of “Happy Days” or “All in the Family” because nothing else was on. I’ve never viewed an episode of “MASH,” “Cheers,” “Seinfeld,” “Friends” etc. Not my thing. There are only three network sitcoms I enjoy and no April, never “The Golden Girls.” Of course ”I Love Lucy” the greatest sitcom in history. Who doesn’t love Lucy? The show may be b/w and so 1950s but Lucy’s antics are timeless and never grows old. “Married With Children” was always reviled for being rude, crude and offensive. The show is so politically incorrect that it’s surprising the woke police haven’t demanded it banned in rerun. I understood from the beginning that at the core, “Married With Children” was a biting satirical parody of society and beneath the often crude humor were uncomfortable truths. “Three’s Company” is another politically incorrect show whose sexist and gay humor make plenty cringe. The show is simply stupid silly fun and not due to star John Ritter but the hilarious scene stealers the Ropers (Norman Fell and Audra Lindley) and Mr. Furley (the great Don Knotts). Oh and yes, there’s Suzanne Somers as Chrissie. So what is your favorite TV sitcom?

I love sitcoms ….. Three’s Company was called Man about the House here in the UK. I loved Golden Girls and Cheers and I watched Friends sometimes. I watched Happy Days when I was younger. Mostly I loved our British sitcoms ….

Truthfully, only the first three seasons of M*A*S*H before it became the Alan Alda show. I have every episode of Hogan’s Heroes and Night Court on DVD, so based on where I spent my money, I’d have to pick one of those two. Or Brothers. I have all those on VHS, and I actually went to a taping of that show.

It’s so funny that you would mention married with children because I just saw a few episodes of it the other day and I said to my husband that I’m surprised they got away with that or that they could still show those reruns in today’s snowflake culture. I’ll mention an oldie but a goodie that you might remember that would not fly in today’s culture either it was called all in the family with Carrol O’ Connor who played Archie Bunker.
