Grocery Prices are Skyrocketing and this economy is exhausting

Stumbled very recently at the groceries only to find a huge disappointment or is it just me, or basic grocery list are becoming like a luxury item?
I know I can’t be the only one feeling this way. Have you looked at your grocery receipt lately? It feels like basic food items of an average wage earner like eggs, milk, fresh produce, bread, and meat have transformed from everyday necessities into luxury purchases. Items that used to be simple, cheap filler foods now cost what premium products used to cost just a few years ago.
It’s getting exhausting trying to budget when every trip to the supermarket feels like a shock. You walk in planning to pick up a few basics and walk out ten times poorer with barely two bags of food. Have you experienced this worst inflation? And what are your budget strategy from this?

And watch out for November. We have been informed by some grocery company that prices will increase again by November.

That news is so not new they always racked up the prices regardless of the season. It's pretty sad that these situations happens they also tax so high and without even full transparency.

@heaytheblogger With the continued weakening of the philippine peso plus the continued increasing of the gas prices, I cannot blame the companies from increasing their cost too or they'll be losing money as well.
I just hope that the government should temporarily removed the 12% vat. It would be of great relief to consumers. Especially on grocery items and restaurants. They should just impose that on luxury items.

@toniganzon I agree! they should exempt basic needs of the population such as food but unfortunately there is no hope with this current government blinded by corruption not to mention a President who lacks empathy and is very out of touch of the reality. He just thinks for himself.

For developing country like Indonesia and Philippine the rise price is hard to catch if our salary is just the average

Yeah we need to tighten our budget. It's just sad that the basic goods now feel like a guilt trip to buy because of the price but you gotta do what you gotta do. Thanks for your response.
