Being an Uncle

My nephew called on me like I said in my last discussion. He slept over for two nights. His dad, my only brother, and I actually are not really in good terms but through him we reconciled naturally. He called his dad while he was with in my condominium unit and he had me talk to my brother. Well, I can tell my brother has finally grown up a bit. I witnessed how he became a responsible father. He sends money to my nephew on a weekly basis when all I thought was that my nephew was only dependent on his varsity allowance. I noticed my nephew has been struggling with his old phone, and iI couldn't help it but ordered a phone and a postpaid plan for him. Well, the delimma was that I couldn't open his own postpaid plan under his name because I need to be his legal guardian. I am not though and I actually thought that being an uncle automatically makes me his legal guardian while his parents are away in the south. I feel happy because despite a very complicated relationship with my mom and my older brother, my nephew has grown a very independent and respectful person. I am really proud of my nephew. I may have not contributed much to the upbringing but with my second mom whom he grew up with, his upbringing seemed to have been very successful. By the way, my second mom is not a relative but we considered her our real mother. She died just two years ago. I actually promised her to take care of my two nephews and I am trying my best to fulfill this. Today, I had to send him off because he has to go back to school especially he has an early training as a varsity volleyball player. He has really grown very tall and very handsome and a very respectful nephew. I have not watched dany of his matches yet because of my busy schedule. I want to really witness every match to show my moral support. Their team is actually the champion for the National Capital Region and they are up for regional finals. He is really a good player.
