I take the same food in my dinner. The same rice, chapati, green vegetables and cow milk with honey. Yesterday a man, who is the owner of a restaurant, suggested me to change my food habit. He said to me that I should change my food from time to time. One night chapati, rice, lentils and vegetables, the next day puri with vegetables and so on. He said to me this would improve my health and make me stronger. Would you please tell me if he is right ??

I think changing food from time to time will not only be healthy, but your taste bud will improve as well

Since different foods have different nutrients he may very well be right. That being said, since what you eat is already healthy, you may feel like there is no need to get better than “very good”, health wise.

For me as someone who is such a very introverted person and minding my own business, If someone asked me to change my meal I would definitely take offence on it because It's my mouth and I can eat whatever I want. But if he is coming from a place of concern then definitely I will take his advice however, I wouldn't abruptly changed my meal plan just because I have some unsolicited advice from someone and he is not a dietician or a doctor to begin with. I'd take professional opinions by someone in that field.

@Shivram59 Just keep us updated on how it changes your palate, But yeah if i was in that situation i would definitely don't keep it so seriously and just mind my business because at the end of the day it's my mouth and money not his.

Thank you. I can understand your reaction to uncalled for suggestions. The man who suggested me to change my food is the owner of a small restaurant. He's not my friend or my relatives,. We just know each other. I am going to follow his suggestions tonight. Let me see if ho do suggestions work.

@heaytheblogger I want to keep myself as fit as possible, so I'll give it a try. Whatever I eat, I chew it properly until it turns into liquid. With my new food habit I'll do the same.

I don't think it is really necessary, but personally I would get tired of eating exactly the same thing day after day. Although when you say 'green vegetables' you don't say whether those are always the same vegetables. Still, a variety of fruits and vegetables does provide a good mixture of nutrients. And the meal you have described looks as though it might be rather low in protein so I would suggest eating some more pulses such as beans or lentils. Are you vegetarian? You also don't mention what you eat for other meals so maybe you already have that covered.

@Shivram59 It sounds as though you are already eating a good range of foods, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you. Yes. I and my whole family have been vegetarian for generations. We continue some vegetables for two or three days and then begin taking other vegetables. The vegetables we take are fresh from fields. Farmers from nearby villages come here to sell their stock and sell them at a stone's throw from my house. Lentils are a must in our food. I prefer to take bananas and mangoes with my dinner.

I dont think changing food every day increases nutrition. But if you have masoor dal one day moong dal another day, cauliflower curry one day, cabbage curry another day it will keep your taste buds alive and you will love the variety of food

Thank you, Souvikji. We eat moong and masoor dal almost everyday. Sometimes we take arhar or chana dal as well. Also we keep changing vegetables. I agree with you that changing food will help my taste buds be alive.. Let me try it for three or four days. Thank you once again.

I think it is a good idea to eat different foods, because there are different health benefits for different foods. So eating a variety of foods helps you get the benefits of those foods.

Thank you, my friend. I've already started eating different foods from last night. Last night I ate puri and potato curry. Now I'm thinking what to eat tonight as dinner. It might take me a few days to change my food habits, but I'm sure it will help.
