I mentioned to Four Walls recently that my only signed album is “Dog & Butterfly” by Heart. The date was September 21, 1978 when I got it autographed. At the time Heart was my favorite group and the first concert I attended. The Wilson sisters were as hot looking as they were talented. I knew someone in the Hollywood press who tipped me off that Heart was doing some press PR for the album and informed where and when.
The now defunct Century Plaza was a huge hotel with a mammoth lobby. Heart was meeting the press somewhere on upper floors where I couldn’t go. So it was a matter of waiting in the lobby to hopefully see them (specifically the Wilson sisters) leaving.
The expansive lobby was by the pool area and I got lucky as the band came down for photos. My break came when they sat in a row on benches. It was a matter of going member to member and getting the album signed. This was the originally Heart lineup: Michael Derosier, Howard Leese, Roger Fisher, Ann Wilson, Steve Fossen and Nancy Wilson.
The signatures aren’t clear because they are in ballpoint but you can make them out in the pic.

Heart was also one of my favorite groups at that time. And while I am not into girls, yes, those sisters were hot. I did not know the Century Plaza was gone. I have actually stayed there. And when I went down for breakfast one morning there, I was in line at the hostess desk behind the great. Rodney Dangerfield. It was an absolute treat to get to meet him.

Yes, the Plaza way before the pandemic. It was a shock to see it closed up. They were going to convert to a condo shopping complex with a new tower built on the back parking lot. Haven't checked in along time to see if that finally happened. Dangerfield was one of the funniest ever.

@JohnRoberts I would have been there either in the late 80s or the early 90s. Mr. Dangerfield was very pleasant and said hello to me, but he was walking with a cane and he looked a little frail..

That must have been a thrill. Heart is probably my all time favorite rock band.

I love the title song. That and “Dreamboat Annie” or my two favorite songs by them.
