Their suggested solution is ridiculous

I wrote the other day that my health insurance company had made a payment to some healthcare provider that I have never heard of when the payment was actually supposed to come to me So I called them yesterday. I did discover that that provider is some unknown person in my doctor’s office but again I’ve never seen her and they were supposed to pay me. The person on the phone in customer service at the health insurance company was more concerned about. They’re getting their money back than me getting reimbursed.. They did not apologize for their error. Do you want to know what her suggestion was? She told me to call my doctors office and have them endorse the check over to me and for me to go drive over and get it. Seriously? I think the insurance company was trying to avoid a fee for a canceled check. I told them I wasn’t going to do that and they said that they were going to call the doctors office and ask the doctor to sign the check over to me and mail it to me. Can you believe that? The customer service is supposed to call me today to tell me if she was able to reach the doctors office to endorse the check over to me or if not what they’ll be doing about it It’s 2 PM and nobody has called. This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard of.

It sounds very atypical! I haven't ever heard of an insurance company doing something like that honestly..

Well, it’s absolutely true and that’s what happened

Oh my word. That is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know how they did what they did, or how they came up with that solution, but they sound incredibly inept.

I have been experiencing a pandemic of ineptitude with everybody I’ve been dealing with lately. It’s very discouraging..

@looeyville So they expect you to sort out their error? If they paid money to someone that’s on them, they need to pay you and get the money back off that other person themselves. You shouldn’t be expected to do anything.

Lots of trouble there. Why do companies risk being labelled as useless over something that in the big scheme of things costs them a faction of the profits

The part where they never even said sorry is what gets me... and then they expect you to drive over and pick up the check yourself. smh the insurance company should be fixing their own mess, not sending you on errands.

They don't want to fix the mistake
