And the First Ride of the Day Goes To...

It was October 31st--Halloween Day if you will--and my daughter and I went to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World for a fun day. So, naturally, our first ride of the day was to honor the holiday, so we went on the Haunted Mansion ride. Honestly, though, we didn't go to Disney because it was Halloween, but because we were still celebrating my daughter's birthday. Last weekend, all the family and friends met up at Disney to celebrate her birthday. This weekend, it was just my daughter and I. It was a nice bonus that it also happened to be Halloween day. So we decided to honor Halloween Day with a ride on the very symbol of the holiday. As soon as we entered the theme park, we made our way straight back to the ride. Thankfully, the crowds hadn't made their way all the way to the back of the theme park, where the ride is located. Knowing that the ride takes your photo (and knowing exactly where the photo is taken), we decided to have a little fun, as the photo above shows. After our first ride of the day, we went and had breakfast at a quick-service restaurant called Sleepy Hollow. It was totally coincidental that we chose Sleepy Hollow on Halloween Day, as they serve chicken and waffles and that is what we were both craving. Did you do anything fun for Halloween?

That's not true John! You actually are a very interesting person! I'll let you in on a little secret...there's a lot of years where I do nothing on Halloween night except sit at home and hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters!

@JohnRoberts Lucky you! I would prefer to not even do that. Do you know how much candy costs these days? LOL

This is the first year in a dozen or more years that I wasn't on a Halloween Cruise or wearing a costume or something.

Oh wow. Was that on purpose, or did circumstances prevent you from doing it?

@moffittjc Well, I was supposed to be in Malta on a solo vacation last week but my liver got enlarged and was poking up against my stomach, and I was in pain, so I couldn't go. So I was supposed to be gone during Halloween.

A favorite of mine too! In fact, one of the things I love about October in general is when networks and streaming services offer their "31 Days of Halloween" movie lineups.

Glad you enjoyed your day and the spooks in the Haunted Mansion; I no longer have anyone to do anything with,
