My Favorite You Tube Live Performances: #5 "Rock Bottom" UFO / myLot

1974 Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert UFO was an early British hard rock/heavy metal band that didn’t achieve major commercial success in the US. The band attained a cult following via concert performances that couldn’t be replicated in the studio. UFO was a revolving door of personnel and the most important on and off member was Michael Schenker, the greatest rock guitarist you never heard of. He was a German teenager jumping from the Scorpions to UFO. “Rock Bottom” is among UFO’s better known songs and specifically designed as a live showcase for Schenker’s prowess. This is pure 70s shirtless long hair rolling on the floor hard rock at its finest and Schenker delivers a sensational solo. You can hear why Schenker and UFO are considered so influential in the heavy metal world.

Didn't know the group but I remember this song. I used to stay up late to watch Don Kirshner's Rock Concert.
