I learned something new yesterday

It's 3.33 p.m., and I'm still indoors. The weather's blazing, with my phone showing 35 degrees celcius I'm not stepping out today, especially since work's been slow. So I'm indoors hoping for a better day and waiting for more online gigs. But yesterday, I stumbled on something cool while scrolling. I found a clip from Trevor Noah's podcast. He talked about advice from Chris Rock. Trev didn't know Chris was such a big deal, and when they met, Chris simply said, “If you need anything, I'm here.” Later, after Trevor started hosting the daily show, Chris asked how it was going. Trev excitedly mentioned his busy schedule saying he host the daily show from Monday to Friday and do standup comedy from Friday to Sunday..Chris gave him that Chris Rock look and said, “Every day?” and Trevor said "yeah...Then came the line from Chris : “You're gonna be the worst comedian in the world. You ain't living man”. Trevor was shocked. He never expected that response The point was simple: art is life, and you can't always be creative if you never actually live. Sometimes you just have to step out, talk to people, see the world. Sometimes the best ideas show up when you're not even trying. Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to live.

That is true, so much of humor is observational, and you have to observe the world to do that.

I think that’s excellent advice. Some people keep hustling, but they don’t take the time to enjoy anything else in life.
