Are / were belly rings a hype of fashion?

They were here a while ago and still are a bit. I thought they were pretty but I didn't want people to think I got one because everyone was doing it.
On the other side, why should I waitte just because it's in fashion?
I got mine when I was 19 going on 20 I believe and I still love it. I hardly ever show it off, sometimes when I go out I do but it's mostly just for me personally and I enjoy it every time I watch it. It makes a nice accent to my body, and that's why I enjoy piercings a lot.
Would you get a piercing when it's in fashion or because it's in fashion?
I only get piercings because I like them, not because they are in fashion.

I agree with you. I only get a piercing if I LIKE IT. I dont get it because it is "in fashion." Just because everyone else is doing it doent mean you have to right?:) I like piercings a lot, just because I DO.:)

Thanks, that should be the reason why people get pierced. I full sick to my stomache seeing 12 year olds getting their belly button pierced because they've seen it in some music video. There might be a couple of bright children out there knowing what they are doing, but I'd say keep away from piercings untill you've stopped growing (that way your skin doesn't stretch anymore and it won't grow out) and once you are more mature you can make more mature discissions (and if you still want it after a year of two years of thinking you can rest assure it's something you really want); don't you think?

well, i'm not a fashion victim and will only go for piercings if i like it, after all, you have to admit that it can be very painful for piercing and uncomfortable for the first few days. but i will do anything that i want to do, it's neverending trying to please everybody cos there will surely be some people who have more things to comment

YEHH I WOULD GET A PIERCING!! NOT BCZ EVERYONE ELSE HAS ONE THOUGH I GOT ALL MY PIERCING BCZ I LIKED THEM AND CUZZ I THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE KOOL LOOKING!!! AND THE PIERCING THAT I HAVE R MY: BELLY-BUTTON, NOSE,1ST N 2ND HOLES AND MI TOP EAR
