What kind of elementaries would be the best for my son? Help me to decide.

We have to choose a school. The first important thing for me to choose one, which is not far away from our home, because I want my son to go to the school by himself 1-2yrs later. So there is 2 very good possibilities. 1. In this one,the children learn french from the 1st year. This is very famous about it. 2. Or the other possibility is the school, where they get high education from methematics. But only the half of children choosen in the end of 4th year.

i would say to chose the first one where the children learn french if the school is famous about it, and you can always pick up methematics later on. unless you can find a place where they teach both french and methermatics, which i dont think it would be hard, right?

No, in the elementary they learn only the one with high lessonnumbers. I would choose mathematics, because he plans buses, and trucks etc. But if he will not be good enough in the first two years, he may not learn mathematics in highlesson numbers. In this case he has to continue as a simple "student" . The french is from the first year. And those students learn simple mathematics.

If your boy is 7, he is big enough to tell you what would he like to do later in his life. Or at least, give you some orientation: is he an artist type, a science type, is he doing business with the other kids, is he into sports, etc. You can observe this and you can talk with him to find out his interests. Amongst these interests, there will be some that are really worth supporting. And then you can find a school where your son can learn really good about those subjects. The only big mistake you can make if you don't support your kid in what he really wants to do, but you enforce your interests on him. For example, this school with French, ask yourself: will your son ever use the French language? If not, there is no any point to make him learn it for years, it would be waste of time.

I think that even a 17yrs old boy can not decide it. The parents must give the best possibility for their children. To learn languages never can be wasting the time, since we live in Europe we have to speak at least 3 languages.

Well, have you asked your son what would he like to do in his life? You might be surprised what mature answer he can give you... The piont is to treat kids as individuals, as human beings who are able to think and reason for themselves. Probably the biggest mistake one can make when dealing with children is to say: "Oh, they are only children, how could they know?!" THIS is the firesure way to end up with a kid who is 17 and still doesn't know what the heck he os she wants to do in life! Of course, parents and other adults mean good for a child when they want to give them all the possibilities, but does that mean that they should ignore what the child wants? About languages: I am also Hungarian, learned Russian and French at school (loved both of them!), then English at a course and German in life, now I am learning Swedish. My son who is in the 6th class, speaks fluent German and good English, besides of course Hungarian - so I can say that I have some experiences in the subject :-) Of course, in Europe it's very good to speak several languages, for a Hungarian it's even necessary. But it's very clever to have a look at this: what language will your son actually USE the most? Or, what will be the motivation for him to learn a language? Without a good reason to learn a language (which has to be much more than get 5s at school), he might only have difficulties with it. Learning languages is a practical thing, it's good for a parent also to be practical about it. :-)

Playgroups are the best option for kids who are about 2 yrs of age. Playgroup schools specialize in dealing with little kids who have just began to see the world and have just stepped to learning something.

Its now become a good practice by parents to start making their children used to school at an early age. Its good because when they join school they adapt to things very easily and its easier for the teachers too, to teach them. Most important part which should be kept in mind about elementaries is that , they should be helping in increasing the child mental abilities to understand things around him and know the common vocabulary and their pronunciation. Next is that teaching should be kept as simple as possible, but surely making a foundation stone for that kid.
