I would like to see all the new discussions, not just the chosen few, clicking on recent oe new is getting old. My computer is not as fast as many others and by the time I can view minutes have passed.

If you haven't done so before now, you could try adding to your Interests lists, and then you can use the discussions in my interests link. That will just show you the discussions that people have started in which you would hopefully be more interested. That way you don't have to sort through so many others.

Yes I find it fustrating too. And some of the posts are sooooooooooooooooooo long it takes forever to read, and then I loose interest. I feel like I am reading a novel.
