man, my kids have stressed me out today! why is it that I have made them so expecting, and lazy?? My oldest son 13 said I did my one chore today?! huh? since when do we only have 1 chore? I dont know now how to change it. I guess this wa more of a vent than a discussion. Sorry.

Maybe you chould use a sticker chart that is what I use. After say 10 stickers that get something small. Then as they get better at doing the chores you can up the amount of stickers they have to get. this well give them something to look forward to.

Stickers work for the younger kids but not for long they get board fast. For a 13 year old let alone a boy it really wont work. They grow up to fast now days and think they know everything.

I know exactly how you feel. It seems the older they get the harder it gets. I have 3 girls 16, 14 and 5 and the 5 year old does more than the older ones sometimes. I always tell them it sure would be nice to have a day off or someone make my dinner once in a while. That dosnt work.I'm just as stumped as you LOL.

I was thinking earlier, I remember "surprising " my mom with a clean house! well I gave a good effort, just to please her and make her happy. I never get that with mine. I dont want to think I am a failure ya know? glad to see I am not the only one. and for the sticker chart idea..we have one it doesnt work, apparently I dont have enough to offer. we have literally had the kids punished for days, they would rather sit in their rooms in trouble than help.
