Why Bill Gates just have 2 cars?

I am wondering why the richest man on earth having just 2 cars...and both are old and not much expensive....Details are below.....

Microsoft founder, philanthropist and self-proclaimed “nerd” William Gates III vents his software stress behind the wheel of two Porsches. His daily driver, a 1999 Porsche 911 Convertible is ripe for replacement, especially considering that Porsche has totally redesigned the latest 911, the 997, for 2005. Now, after waiting some 10 years, Gates can finally enjoy his other favorite Porsche: a rare (1 of 230) 1988 Porsche 959 Coupe. In fact, due to the 959’s questionable emissions and unknown crash ratings, it took a federal law signed by President Clinton for Bill Gates to legally drive his 959 on American roads. Rumor has it that Bill Gates and Paul Allen employed Microsoft engineers to write a computer program that could simulate the 959’s crashworthiness, which helped in the bill’s passage.

I think its all about how simple a man could live no matter how rich he is.. I'm not sure if you know Azim Premji (India's richest man worth about 15 billion$) had a Ford Escort untill 2004!! after which he gave it up and brought a Toyota Corolla!! Personally I also know a few people who are so - of course not as rich as Gates or Premji... but, no matter how rich they are.. their way of life is really really simple

mate fair enough. i agree. but ur a yank right. simple cars cost money and cost money to run. unlike u maybee hed be living low. and maybee while ure shopping online hes hooking up the deal. how would i know. but id be stackin instead of lustin over a car id crash. yeah send us a taste bill. mate bills probably doesnt have time to lust over some stupid car. peace matt

I believe he is a very practical man, and doesn't need to show off. After all, how many cars does a person need? And if you drive around in expensive cars, you are more prone to getting ripped off. His life style hasn't changed that much, and he is very cheratable.

I have seen many of the rich people which are not fond of spending money in such things. He might be happy with 2 cars and would have not found it appropriate to buy more.

its jus a car... having an expensive car is not everyhting in life... there are so many things to life than that

Maybe he likes too much cars, I think. But to have 2 Porsche is not so easy for normal people. They are 2 very good vehicles, fast and with beautiful design.

i dont see why anyone needs more than 1 car...i mean, if you have more than one, they'll just be sitting there with no reason and purpose. maybe bill gates realized that after he got his second car. but im sure he probably also has a private jet, so it's not like he needs 10 cars just to drive to the local grocery store (if he even drives there himself).

i think that old is gold and he is having the old but it is gold and new cars didn't have that much features and life that an old car has. this is wat he is owning only 2 cars

the guy is pretty down to earth, he spends most of his earnings in helpin ppl, not in some luxurious things!!!
