ANIMAL RIGHTS. what about the chickens and pigs? Descriminated?

I met my friend just this morning while i was out buying my bread outside. He is madly in love now with his movements in Animal Rights. He talked about how they are going to tackle about saving the stray dogs from torture, banning the bird hunters, saving the lives of reptiles and so on. I began to ponder about birds... Chickens are birds..So they should be saved also from getting killed and cooked! I asked my friend. He became silent. Then i moved my eyes and saw he was carrying a pack full of pork chops! Then i asked him once more, are we not going to save th pigs from getting chopped at the butchers haus? they are animals too and they deserve to be protected under Animal rights. It seems to be that some animals are descrimated somehow. If we have to uphold Animal rights, then i guess we should think about the fish, the cows, the chickens, and the pigs. What do you think guys?
