Hi. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to search registries for breeders/dogs. I bought one of my dogs from a breeder & I wanted to see if he's legit. My dog wasn't registered, but her parents supposedly are. I have all the breeder's info, I just don't have the numbers of the dogs. So I was wondering if there's any way to search for registered dogs from their owner's info. If you can help me with this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Do you know what registering body the sire and dam were registered with? Was it the United Kennel Club? It wouldn't be the American Kennel Club, because Pitbull Terriers aren't eligible for registration with the AKC (only American Staffordshire Terriers). If you do know, and it's the UKC, I'd try giving them a call, explaining the situation. I will say, though, that no legitimate breeder would sell their puppies without papers.. it's like a birth certificate for a dog. Shouldn't cost anything extra for you either.

Thanks. I'll have to try calling or e-mailing the registries that he said they're registered with. I believe he said they're dual registered with UKC & CKC.
