I think he is playing by hisself - a neutral character. His behavior on the last book was really weird, what leads me think that he is playing his own game - trying to control some characters and being obedient to others.

I totally agree, that might make him evil to only care about himself, but I don't think he is fully on Voldemort's side.

First, I'm just now starting the second book. I've seen all the movies. I keep going back and forth on whether or not
Snape is good or evil. Now, I'm leaning toward evil if he killed dumbldor. I need to read more of the books to get a better answer.

To be honest I don't know. I don't want to think that Dumbledore could have been fooled in that way. It's hard to think that Snape could have put up such an act for so long without Dumbledore becoming wise to it. However considering how the last book ended he might have had better skills then we gave him credit for. Unless he had turned over a new leaf but was converted back. Either way I think the last book will prove interesting as they show which he truly is.

He was probably evil previously. But I trust that he has defected to the good side. Dumbledore is really smart and I trust that he made a right choice accepting Severus back into Hogwarts as a teacher.

I believe that he's evil...But then again, seeing as how both Snape and Dumbledore were adept at Occlumancy and Leglimancy, they could have communicated before Snape killed him. There is a possibility that Snape is a grey character instead of shades of black or white.

I think he is good man. BUt he can;t be honest and can;t ekspress his REAL feeliong to others. I think the only one who understand him is Lily Potter and Dumbledore.^^

![Severus Snape - Here's a little excerpt from Wikipedia..Interesting bit of info for me lies in the years he attended Hogwarts.
Severus Snape (born January 9, c.1958) is a fictional character in the Harry Potter series of novels by J. K. Rowling. His first appearance was in the book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, published in 1997.
Snape attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from c. 1969 to c. 1976, was appointed Professor of Potions, and Head of Slytherin house, in c. 1981.
His physical appearance is that of the classic villain: thin, "hook-nosed" and having "long, greasy hair", clad in forbidding black robes "like an overgrown bat".[HP1] Harry Potter intensely dislikes and distrusts Snape for his chequered past and the animosity Snape displays towards him.
In the Harry Potter films, the character is played by actor Alan Rickman. Severus Snape - Here's a little excerpt from Wikipedia..Interesting bit of info for me lies in the years he attended Hogwarts.
