When I choose a movie or a CD, I think about the artist of course but then I almost always think of what I know about that artist outside of their "work". For example, I thoroughly enjoy Denzel Washington as an actor anyways but I love the fact that last year he visited a veterans medical facility. He told the soldiers there thank you and that he was proud of them. He also donated money to Fisher House which is kind of like a Ronald McDonald House type thing. It is like a long term hotel for families of veterans to stay at while the soldiers are being treated at the hospitals when they come back from service. Which celebrities do you admire for their altruistic contributions and what have they done? Donated time? Money? Built something?
