myLot, PLEASE make it so we can find new comments!

I am really enjoying the discussions, but it's really frustrating to me when I am involved in a discussion that gets to be 15 pages long or more, and there is one new comment and I have to page through every single page of the discussion to find it. It would be really, really nice if we could go straight to the most recent comments. I've done web design and I know this is no minor change to the script, but it sure seems like it would be a huge improvement.
That, and organizing the site with categories.
I don't want to be a complainer. I just thought that would be a good idea. Anyone else bothered by this?

You do know that you can simply go to the last page of any discusson and see the last comment, assuming that someone didn't posted that comment anywhere else within the discussion, as sometimes happen.

Yes, but I want to see new comments in the rest of the discussion as well. That's what's bothering me.

Yes, you're correct Mr. september to me I'm reposting the responses to the same discussion many a times. It is better to answered discussion will not appear before us makes we can goon making answer without wasting our time in browsing pages.

I can't agree with you more. However, there is one upside it gives one an opportunity to read others' comments on which you can also comment (at least one per discussion post) and get a credit. I have a sneaking suspicion that they might be working on this and who knows there will be a solution before we know it. Let's keep our fingers crossed at least. Nice discussion and hopefully productive.

I know this doesn't pertain to this discussion but I just wanted to know if you knew the response after yours was copied from your response? Its not your complete response but the first couple of sentences are word for word. I was going through reading everyones thoughts on this discussion before I post my own and seen this.

Yes...exactly...you have really made somevalid points here and why don't you post this to mylot people.As it is, it's a problem for everyone in mylot here.It really consumes more time here and by making some changes, this time can be reduced or saved.....isn't it? anyway's, it's a nice idea and i hope mylot will really consider this matter seriously and get this matter settled at the earliest.

Before you post a comment to a discussion, simply look at the bottom of the page to see what page "you're" on. Then when you go back to it, you'll know where your post was, and you can see the new replies.
Since you were a web designer (as I am) you know that the more "stuff" they put on Mylot, the longer it will take for pages to load. This can be difficult for dial-up users to participate and would, in the long-run, decrease the amount of users on Mylot.

I do that sometimes, but I can't remember it for every discussion I'm involved in.
I don't think they should add a lot of bells and whistles that slow the site down, but this is basic functionality and since it would just be a function of the script, I don't think it would slow it down. Lots of discussion sites have this capability and I don't ever notice a problem on them.

i completely agree with this request! I would love for it to send you an e-mail (as it does) stating you have new comments, BUT it should link you directly to that specific comment. Now that would be cool!

my concern is similar but on the commenter's part. when i post my response, i usually go back and check if the poster of the discussion or any other member had said something about it. sometimes it gets too taxing to try to find your post on a 15-page or more discussion that i just leave it like that. and that does not encourage real good discussions on topics among members.
yes, i agree with you that myLot should look into this and add it to their list of things for improvement. i'm sure they'll be glad to.

Yes this is frustrating and I think in time MY Lot will make changes to help us. I just go to the last page to see the last discussion. The thing I hate is trying to get back to the first page if I start a new discussion or if I am answering a new discussion. I know they need to tweak their format and hopefully they will soon.

that would be a good thing to have especially when you have long discussions and when someone made a comment somewhere in the middle of the discussion you end up searching and searching. maybe in future it may be added can't say though what mylot thinks about it.

I have the same problem. I go back and check to see who comments on my replies when I post on other people's discussions too. It is almost impossible to find my comment sometimes among the others. I wish there was a way to find those easier as well.

Very Nice. Then contact the myLot authorities directly through messages. Present your case detailedly, they will surely encourage you for the development of the site. Same problem I'm also facing differently. Whether I've responded or not, to know the status I've to browse the every page of the discussion.

That is kinda what I posted today. I want to get back, and between the puter so slow, mylot so slow, and trying to find the discussion, you have wasted a lot of time.

That's true, but when I've read every response out of about 10 pages, and there's only one new response, I'd like to be able to go straight to the new one without having to page through them all to find the new one.
