Okay, I was so against Harry Potter when the movies first started coming out. I thought it looked like some really dumb little kid movie. Well, here I am twenty five years old and totally addicted to Harry Potter. I can not get enough of the movies and am now starting to get the books. I even play an interactive RPG Harry Potter online game. So, I guess it isn't dumb after all. Tell me your thoughts.

I like the harry potter movies. I think the books are much better though. They just have more detail. But they did a great job with the movies.

With the books, you need more details because you have to use your imagination to set the scenario. The movie requires no imagination on your part. Also, I was disappointed to see some of the bits of the books they left out. They cut some good stuff.

Books are alway better in my opinion. I don't think they can put that much detail into a movie like they do a book. Otherwise the movie would last forever, and more then likely lose the attention of it's viewers. Thanks for the response!

Yes, i have never thought of harry potter series to be stupid. I think its purely the direction and cinematography that can make the same script look dull or like heaven. These movies are made by a great team of dedicated people.

It took forever for my husband to talk me into giving the movie a chance. I finally gave in and now I watch it and keep up with everything way more then he does! Thanks for the response!

Please please please telling me that you have read up through Order of the Phoenix by now? i hope you have before watching the movie. Some people like watching the movies first...but I'm an avid reader. I have read the entire series of books twice, and am finishing all of them up now for a 3rd time. The books are so much more magical than the movies!

I love the movies too. I especially like it when Hermione does something exceptional and earns the respect and admiration of the boys. I liked when she was coming down the stairs wearing a dress for the Yule ball and the boys really saw her for the first time. I hated when they made her cry. Hagrid is priceless!

I love the Harry Potter movies. I'm a big kid at heart. The first one looked good so I went to see it. I'm not hooked but I really love the movies a lot. I've seen a preview for the next one. It looks intense.

I had never read any of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books until I saw Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and while I'm not a big fan of either the movies or the books (I only have Books 1 and 5), I really was surprised that neither falls into the category of "Just for Kids" fare. Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if someday Rowling isn't hailed as one of the most important and influential storytellers in English-language literature. (I'm also, by the way, for anyone who can get kids excited about reading; I happen to think that if textbook authors/editors would make an attempt to make history and other subjects' textbooks more interesting, our educational system would be better off.)
