Heartburn

I get heartburn a lot, at least once a day. Sometimes it's because of what I ate, or because my pants are too tight. How do I prevent heartburn or treat it? I don't like to take lots of pills, so I don't use Zantac, etc. Are there any natural remedies, besides drinking lots of milk?

Hi, I get heartburn a lot too. Its usually caused from the things I eat. Now, what I do is take something for heartburn before I actually get it. I take Zantac 150 for heartburn. It works so fast and gets rid of my heartburn within 10 min. usually less.

Is it true, though (do you know) that you aren't supposed to take those pills on a daily basis? I don't want to create a permanent problem in my body. I usually drink some water with baking soda in it or drink milk and it calms the heartburn down. I have been told the heartburn might be associated with my weight (I'm about 50-60 lbs overweight for my height).

Certain foods trigger heartburn. Ask your doctor to discuss how changing your diet can effect your heartburn.

I suffer from reflux alot,so know what you're going through.I have found that Gaviscon is really good,it forms a seal over your stomach to stop the stomach juices from rising. You may need to go to the doctor to see if there are any underlying medical conditions causing it.In my case it was caused by a hiatus hernia.Stress seems to make mine act up more.
