Concessions at the movie theatres

I would love to attend more movies but the cost is high enough without trying to afford the concessions. There are times I try to get by with bottled water, only to find the cost will be $3.50-or $4.50. I have spent more on the concession stand than I have on the ticket to see the movie. Why do they have to charge so much? Does anybody ever sneak candy into the theatre? When I was a teenager, I use to go in the exit all the time and watch movies for free. Anybody ever do that?~~Max

I do not like movie teaters at all, try to watch all movies at home.

I know what you mean. My husband and I went to the movies the other night and not only did it cost us $17 to get in, it cost us $10 for one large popcorn and a large drink. I agree that they charge way too much. I don't understand why they need to do that.

i cannot agree with you more. hubbie and i went one time and its was $300 per bottle of water, water, wow that was just too much. now we take our own water in my bag. the food too is expensive and is not alot to start off with.

We have a great movie theatre here and it only charges 3.00 per person and their snacks are very reasonable. Three of us can go to the movie and get snacks for around 20.00 and they show all new releases, we love it.

It is crazy how much money people will pay for food at the movies. From time to time, I have to admit, I will sneak candy in. If the candy/drinks/popcorn wasn't so much money I would have no problem buying it inside. But because I can hardly afford to go out to the movies the rare times that I do I can't afford the $5 for a soda.
