How do we change this? The richest two per cent of adults in the world own more than half of global household wealth, according to a study released on Tuesday. In 2000 the richest one per cent of adults owned 40 per cent of global wealth, a report by the Helsinki-based World Institute for Development Economics Research of the United Nations University (UNU-WIDER) said. Its comprehensive study of personal wealth has revealed that the richest 10 per cent of adults accounted for 85 per cent of the total global assets. In contrast, the bottom half of the world adult population owned barely one per cent of global wealth. Average wealth amounted to 144,000 dollars per person in the USA in year 2000, and 181,000 dollars in Japan. Lower down among countries with wealth data are India with per capita assets of 1,100 dollars and Indonesia with 1,400 dollars per capita. http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D8LQQ40G0.htm http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/725095.cms

That link doesn't work. I remember reading something similar to this a while back though, here: http://www.motherjones.com/news/exhibit/2006/05/perks_of_privilege.html I think it's pretty messed up, but it's the world taht we've created for ourselves. The only way it will change is if we make it.

Thanks for sharing the concern. Charity is never a solution. The empowerment and the zeal to spread knowledge and information. This may eventually translate into more entrepreneurs and success stories.
