hello all! i am a married mother of 3 children, i have two boys and a girl. i just found out that i am pregnant with twins on November 22nd. at the time 5 weeks along. i am eating for 6 it feels sometimes. and about every 2 to 3 hours. i have NOT had ANY morning sickness!!! PRAISE GOD! this i think is a genetic thing because my mom and grandma had the same thing. NO morning sickness with boys and plenty of it to pass around with the girls. that is how we new what we were having! lol i am kind of curious how different this pregnancy will be and the delivery as well. i do have questions but i think that my answers will come soon enough! please share you experience with twins, and how having twins has effected your lives. i love to read about other parents experiences.

Congratulations. I am a 37 yr old mother to 4 1/2 yr old triplets. The first thing I did when I found out was look for support. I have belonged to a mothers of multiples support group since I was 3 months pregnant, I am now the president of the group. If you go to nomotc.org you can find your local multiples/twins club. There is a place to put in your zip code and find your local group. It is so much easier when you can talk to someone that has gone thru what are you going thru. Definately find a club and attend while you are pregnant. It is much easier to accept help from the wonderful women you will meet when you are already comfortable with them. Good luck and again congratulations.

i have looked for support groups in my area and i have found none. i live in gulfport mississippi. there are no groups here at all and i don't think that i could make up a support group on my own. i have however found a site that is just as good and it's called twinstuff.com . there are also families with higher numbered multiples too. and the best thing is that i don't have to pay for the group support. the groups that i have researched online all want you to pay some amount of money, knowing that people with multiples cannot afford the costs. so i found free sites.

I AM A MOTHER OF 5 YEAR OLD TWINS, I HAVE A BOY AND A GIRL. I DIDNT FIND OUT I WAS HAVING TWINS UNTIL I WAS 5 MONTHS ALONG. AT FRIST TWINS ARE VERY HARD TO TAKE CARE OF, THEY ARE WERE MY FIRST CHILDREN. AFTER AWHILE IT BECAME ALOT EASIER. THE MOST OF MY HARD TIMES WERE WHEN IT WAS FEEDING TIME, OR WHEN THEY HAD START WALKING! i HAD GOT TO NEARLY 200 POUNGS. ONE THING I WOULD TELL YOU TO KEEP IN MIND IS THAT THIS IS A HIGH RISK PREGANCEY, GO TO ALL YOUR DOCTOR APPOINTMANT, TAKE YOU PRENATAL PILLS, AND REST BECAUSE TWINS ARE NOT EASY TO CARRY, AND THEY HAV A TENDCEY OF COMING EARLIER. GOOD LUCK!

thank you so much for your comment! another thing is that with this pregnancy i have been able to keep my prenatal vitamins down. i threw them up with my other 3. it might be a little easier for me with having these last, huh. having an 8, a 6 and 3 year old to help me. i have already been labled high risk due to 3 miscarriages and the RH factor. i have to get the Rhogam shot too. thanks again for your reply!

Congrats! I found out I was pregnant with twins when my son was only 5 months old (and i was on birth control). It's a big shock and since I had a c-section with my son I had to go to a high risk doctor. Carrying twins is not fun! I had a lot of pain..pelvic pain, back pain, leg pain..everything hurt! It hurt just to lift my legs to get dressed! Luckily I didnt have any serious problems, no pre-term labor and no bed rest. My twins were born at 37 weeks, boy and a girl!..I had no morning sickness with my first pregnancy and just a few days of it with the twins! I was lucky in that sense!..It's a big adjustment having twins to take care of, too. Two car seats, needing two of everything! Two screaming babies! Two babies to feed at one time! Thankfully my husband was a big help!..My twins just turned 2 in October and they are best friends!

thank you so much for your reply! i think that we are both lucky with the morning sickness thing. i am at 7 weeks now and it is so wierd talking about it still, but i am excited. i know that it is always a big help when our husbands help us! they are a blessing and we need to tell them all the time. my husband was really good about our daughter being born, he would get up with her in the night and feed and change her just to let me sleep and that was soooo awesome. my ex-husband didn't do that and i had 2 sons with him. i just appreciate my husband and all that he does. and thank you again for your reply!

Have you had your babies yet? What are they? I hope that you had an easy time, and are managing. Or, are you close to the time? I have no twins, I just wanted to wish you luck and happiness. God bless your family and you.

My husband and I have 3 children and we are very happily married. We don't have twins ... at least not yet. We are planning on having twins in 2009! We've felt the Lord leading us to adopt two boys (hopefully twins) from Haiti. If they arrive in 2009 we will have a 7 year old, a 5 year old and a 4 year old plus the twins! By then your kiddos will no longer be infants and you can give us all kinds of advice. One thing about adopting twins from Haiti, is that the youngest they will be is around 9 months!

I am the mother of twins - boy/girl who will turn 3 in April. I also have a 7 year old daughter. My pregnancy was fairly pain free until the 6 1/2 month mark. Then the pelvic pain started and never stopped. By the eighth month I had to sit down in the shower, and I couldn't climb into my SUV. It was especially difficult having another child to take care of - very little time to rest. The single most important and life saving thing I did when they were born was ask for help. Luckily, my mom and my mother-in-law each stayed with us for a week. And, my husband had no choice but to become involved with daily routine of twins. And as much as I used to complain about lugging around the two infant car seats, now I'd like to be able to strap them into something. They are all over the place -in two different directions. I wouldn't trade them for the world, though. My three children are the most amazing miracles I know of.
