Deja Vu is having an experiance and then suddenly you remember already having lived though the exact same experiance before. You have a previous memory of everything that occurs, even what was said by others in the experiance. Here is the medical explination for Deja Vu: Your brain takes in information from all of your senses, sight, touch, sound, smell, emotion. All of this information is processed by your brain and interpreted so that you can make sense of your surroundings. This information, is then "filed" away by your brain for later reference. The brain first files the information in your short term memory for immediate use, it then checks your long term subconciouse memory for anything information that may help it properly interpret the new information for you. After the short term memory, your brain files the new information in your long term memory. Keep in mind, this all happens almost at the speed of light. But, sometimes a glitch occurs. You brain, for some reason, sends the information to your long term memory first, by-passing your short term, conscious memory. Then, the brain correcs itself and sends the information to your short term memory. Then, it goes through the cycle of checking your long term memory and placing the information there. But, in the case of the glitch, it finds that the same exact memory is there already, and presto! You interpret this glitch as Deja Vu.

I believe that past life experiances can exlpain some less generalized deja vu experiances, such as feelings of familiarity with a person place or thing, but i do not think it explains detailed memories of conversations and things like that.

Which came first, the chicken ot the egg?
@brokentia (10389)

Right...so the dinosaur had to poop out a chicken egg for it to be a chicken. I think a dinosuar must have been doing some inbreeding then. LOL
@Argonaut (260)

6 Dec 06
If you beleive in evolution, then one must conclude that the chicken came first. Birds evolved from dinosaurs. Therefore the dinosaur ancestor of the bird came before the bird. The first bird or "chicken" hatched from an egg, but it was adinosaur egg, not a chicken egg. That first chicken laid the first purely chicken egg; subsequently all chickens came from that line of chickens. Therefore, the chicken came first.

I have several questions for you 1. Why do all dentists want to take out the wisdom teeth? 2. What is that little ball thing in the back of our throat? Why do we need it? My friend just had his removed because he had a bad snoring problem... If you can take it out - what's the point of having it in the first place?
• United States
9 Dec 06
They certainly don't.
@Argonaut (260)

That thing in the back of your throat is called a uvula. It helps to stop food from ging down your air passages, but sometimes can become too flabby and obstruct your air passge and cause sleep apnea and snoring. Widom teeth a called wisdom teeth because they ussually do not come out until you are an adult. They never stop growing.
@Argonaut (260)

The reason dentists want to remove your wisdom teeth is because they keep growing and will crowd your teeth and the roots can become entangled in the nerves of your jaw.

They aren't teaching the kids it isn't a planet yet because the text books haven't changed yet. Give it 10 years, the text books will catch up just as something else is changing because someone got all snotty and does want to call Saturn a planet anymore.

The most common form of feverfew is encapsulated extract. The are also whole leaves and powder form. The whole leaves are eaten, not used as a tea. Do not use in children under 2 years of age. The best place to get feverfew would be at a chinese herbal medicine store. If that is not available you can get it from a reputable online supplier.

Why is red the first color we see?
@brokentia (10389)
• United States
6 Dec 06
But we still see red first. This would be why fire trucks are red...stop signs...red lights....if we only see red first because of our primordial or newborn, then wouldn't we stop seeing red first later in life? Maybe stop signs should be blue or purple.
@Argonaut (260)

This has to do with the very basis of the creation of the cosmos. Are you familiar with the "red shift" associated with cosmic objects and bodies? When the comsos came into being, the was an abudance of the ellement hydrogen. Scientist are able to tell if a cosmic body is moving away from us because hydrogen reflects a red spectral color as it moves away. This is because hydrogen was so abundant that there is still a great deal of it all throughout the universe. I respect to this, when we are born our eyes are still in a primordial state. They are attunrd to the red spectrum because the firsr eyes that evolved would have been more sensative to the spectrum due to the greater amount of hydrogen present at the time.
@Argonaut (260)

6 Dec 06
Yes, our eyes did evolve, but there are vestigial remains of our evoltionary ancestors in us that ussually only present themselves for short period of time, when we are fetuses or newborn. An example is the gills that each human fetus has for short period during gestation.

The "term" soul mate actually means someone whom you had known previously, or in another level during your attempt to reach nervana. Although a soul mate may "feel" like your perfect mate, he or she is in reality more like a very close friend that you will recognize at any level of existance. What you are really looking for is your "Karmic Connection." Every soul, when they come into being, is ussually created with two halves male/female, sometimes male/male or female/female. Stop looking for a friend as a lover. Make your heart and mind open to yourself, and you may find your connection. Your connection will complete you. There is a very good chance that you will meet your connection since they are very much like you, and they have probably reached the same level of enlightenment that you have. You must keep yourself open to this.

God will save us, yes I agree, but not before we lose many more Americans, perhaps millions. In about 5 to 10 years god will allow the people of the nation to wake up and see that liberalism ia just a disguise for the old, failed commuinism. People will embrace it at first, but when our very way of life begins to change drastically, and they see that attmepting to please the Islamo-Facists only encourages them to saw our heads of faster, we will be saved. And, after that, if god is still not pleased with US, he will destroy the coast of California on April 13, 2029.

OK...I got a question!!! :) I suffer from (what I call) mild insomnia...it could be worse. I get about 4 to 5 hours of sleep. But recently only about 3 to 4 hours. When that happens, I often feel too tired and am able to take an hour nap. But for some reason, I feel worse when I wake up! If I really need this sleep, why do I feel worse after only an hour nap?
@Argonaut (260)
• United States
27 Dec 06
This is because our bodies work in cycles. Sleep cycles, awake cycles. When you go to sleep for that one hour, your body goes into a sleep cycle and remains in that sleep cycle even though you are awake.

I know the answer to this one - but let's see if you do. Why can you never find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (besides the fact that it's not real)?
• United States
10 Dec 06
That is a good answer - but the scientific one - which is the one I was looking for is this: no two people can see the same rainbow because they are seeing light reflected from a different set of drops. There is a legend that says if you go to the end of the rainbow you can find a pot of gold. However, because every time you move you are actually seeing a completely different rainbow, you can never get to the end.
@Argonaut (260)

We can never find the pot of gold because we are never happy with what we have. It is the anticipation that we crave, not the gold.

Why does a light switch say on and off? Blind people can't see it to read... and people with site should know that the light is off or on when they turn the switch.
• United States
9 Dec 06
We modify everything else to make it modern - so why not stop putting it on the switch now that it's not necessary?
@Argonaut (260)
• United States
9 Dec 06
The on and off written on light switches are a throwback to the days when electric power was first introduced in private homes. Think about it, it's something you take for granted now, but if you had never seen a light switch before, you would be glad that it came with some instructions.

Life is the culmination of all the energy and mass produced since the beginning of time. We have lost lost our way because we are afraid to die. ALl of the stars, all of the cosmos came to being so that the physical forces could create us. It is the meaning of life to die, and become part of the cosmic force that is creating more life. Eventually all creation of life will slow down nad become completely absorbed by the comos, or physical force. We will all be one.

my question is easy. when was the real birthdate of jesus christ? i think its not dec 25 like we used to celebrate it.
• United States
9 Dec 06
Yes - this is true. Why would shepherd have their flocks out in the field in the middle of winter? There are so many things about Christmas that are pagan. The origins of the Christmas tree for one.
@Argonaut (260)
• United States
7 Dec 06
The real birthdate of Jesus was in during the time of the year we now refer to as May, six years earlier than commonly accepted.
@Argonaut (260)
• United States
7 Dec 06
The bithdate of Jesus was changed to the birthdate of the Roman era savior known as Mithra who was said to have been born of a virgin on Decemebr 25th, in a cave. This was done to make Jesus more acceptable to the pagans of the time.
