How do you feel about people talking on their cell phones during a movie?

I think it is extremely rude for someone to talk on their cell phone during the movie or even having it on and hearing the ringing. It is very distracting and sometimes you are not sure if it is the movie or not. This is one of my pet peeves.

I don't go to the movies that often...I have to wait for it to come out on DVD. But the last time I went to the movies, didn't they have a preview thingy that said you had to turn your cell phones off. I have to admit, I didn't but I sure did put it on silent/vibrate. And if I would have gotten a call, I would have left to not disturb others. So, I guess I would think it rude for someone to talk on their cell phone while at a movie. But not rude to have the cell on as long as it is on silent mode.

I don't mind if they have their phone on vibrate since I would not hear it as long as they do not answer the call in the theatre and disrupt us from seeing the movie.

I agree with you too, it is very rude to be talking on a cell phone during a movie. I will at least put it on vibrate, then I know if I am getting a call and can see on caller id if I need to take the call. If I do need to, I would leave the theater to answer the call.

I agree that if they have to have their phone on, it should be vibrate and then leave the theatre if they need to take the call but never answer the phone in the theatre or have the ringer on.

Wow, I've never run into this problem. I'd say that I'd be pretty annoyed at someone for having their phone ring during the movie, if they were actually talking on the phone that's just rude!! You pay a lot of money to see a movie these days, you don't need to have your experience ruined by some cell phone..

I think it is very rude to be talking on a cell phone in the movies. I don't think there is any phone call that important that can't wait until they leave...I guess that is why we like to stay home and watch movies as it is so nice and quite..

It drives me nuts, it's so rude. It makes me want to dump an extra-large popcorn with extra butter on the person's head.

I think it is one of the most rude things one can do. I do not pay good money to listen to some random person talk on the phone. If you want to talk while you watch a movie, go to Blockbuster or sign up for NetFlix and leave the rest of us in peace!

I couldn't agree more with your comment. They should stay home and watch movies and talk on their phones. We pay good money to see a movie and it stinks to have it ruined by people talking on their phones.

This is one of the rudest things that inconsiderate people can do. If they MUST take the phone call, then they need to go outside to the lobby where they will not be disturbing those people trying to watch the movie. It is so annoying to try to be concentrating on a movie and have another voice in the background.

it is very irritating to watch people taking on their cell phones instead of watching the movie.some of them are so stubborn that even if you tell them not to do so or stare at them they at least affected.

I don't like it when ppl use it in a movie theatre or if they just let it ring and ring. I make sure mine is on vib all when going to the movies. I will not answer it in the theatre, I go outside so I do not disturb the others that paid good money to see the movie. I haven't been to a movie in a while though, so I have not had to deal with it that much.

I can not stand it when people get on their cell phones at the movie! It drives me crazy. I got so mad one time because someone had been on their cell phone from the beginning of it until about an hour into it. I finally got up went to the front desk at the theater and told them. I got my money back and the person was asked to leave since they wouldn't get off their phone. You know what else I hate? People who sit behind you and insist on pushing or kicking against your seat the whole time! I mean really, do you need to move that much? And what about the people that sit behind you and then put their foot like right next to your face. How rude is that? What has happened to people? So disrespectful!

I have never encountered this, but I consider the whole concept to be totally unacceptable. People pay good money to watch a particular film, a fact that everyone else in the cinema is fully aware of, so causing a distraction of that nature is not only inconsiderate but extremely offensive.

I would feel very disturbed when some one talkes near you on the phone and sometimes shoutsout on phone if the signals ae comming.. they should know they are disturbing others and should talked to the called later or can go outside of the theater to talk if they really have to

I hate people answering cellphone calls inside a movie house. Its totally rude for anybody to talk so loud because of his call. But it think most movie houses now are banning taking of cellphone calls. I think this should be done to all other movie houses.

i find it frustrating that people do that. on the screen before the movie they tell you to TURN THEM OF or SILENCE them but some people just don't. even some of my friends have done it and i find it annoying. the lighting fromt he cell and the talking is very distracting no matter how LOW you mean to talk.
