When you go fishing do you keep the fish or release them back into the water?

I am a catch and release fisherman. I really don't eat much fish so there is no need to keep them. If I am fishing with someone who will enjoy them then I will let them have them. But in general I just enjoy the time spent trying to catch them. Enjoying the beauty of nature and the calm and peacefulness assocciated with the water.

I have never understood how someone can like to fish but not eat the fish. I guess I grew up where we had to fish to eat.

For me, what ever my catch would be for my family and neighbour. If I catch more than enough for my family the rest, will be given to my neighbour. So we share the catch. The same goes to my neighbour. So we seldom buy fish from the market.

I do not fish much, but if I catch a fish that is good to eat and is legal, I eat it.

In my case, i always cook my catch! hehehe.. My reason for fishing is i wanna eat freshly grilled fish. Everytime i fish, i always bring my griller, charcoal, oil, spices, and some sauce. Í also tried eating fresh sashimi right there in our fishing boat. Its so nice to eat fresh fish. Fishing is to fish for my fresh dish.

If we're going to eat them, we keep them. If not, they go back into the water for the next time. We don't fish as much as we used to. We usually get ours from the grocery store now.
