I was adopted and me and my real mother have never been close. I want to finally have a relationship with her but I do not know how to start. I feel that if I finally get to know her she could answer alot of questionsthat I have.

No, dont feel any shame or strangeness with the real mother, otherwise u have to feel in the future that u have lost a lot of love for some dirty reason. so go to her and talk to her.
