Every Thanksgiving and Christmas I attempt to make a pecan pie. I follow directions right off the karo syrup bottle. Every year I fail. My pie is always runny and never sets. What am I doing wrong?

Don't know...it's been several years since I baked one, but I think it has to cool off to set. Here are a couple of easy recipes...
Ingredients:
3 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 cup light corn syrup
1 1/4 cup pecans
1 tsp Vanilla
1 unbaked 9" pie shell
Preheat oven to 375ยบ F, beat eggs, vanilla, sugar & salt. Add butter & syrup & mix in pecans. Bake 40-45 minutes in pie shell.

Blend the melted butter with the corn syrup. Add the eggs and salt mix well. Pour into an unbaked 8" pie shell. Top with the chopped pecans and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes.
