Increase the Ram can make a slow comp faster or using a fast processor

Processor - the core of the system. Space on hdd- if you have less space access time wil be more RAM- The more the better Speeding up a computer - add RAM, check for viruses, spywares.

All of them can help with the speed of the computer. But also you have to look at what type of software you are running and what is running on the computer in the background that you dont see....That can make a big slow down in a great computer..

computre speed is determined by 1.processsor speed. 2.RAM 3.hard disk space(but not that it is a core component in speed,but its neccessary) 4.graphics card will be a good choice.it will boost ur display quality and speed of loading visual graphics.

to run this baby you need atleast comp like me P4 2.8GHZ RAM 1GB GECUBE 9600XT 128... in my opinion if you want a fast comp let say for gaming you should aim for high end graphic card, dual channel RAM 1GB or 2GB, Processor can be middle range, oh and a good power supply 400+mhz

The very common are the processor the larger the value in gig the better plus the cachable memory in it; Random Access Memory(RAM) and for gamers or graphic oriented works the video card. As much as possible get what is the latest on the market and to maximize the speed of the pc check the CMOS. greetings. : )

Most key factors that determine are the components which are as follows, Processor, CPU cooler, RAM, known brand such as corsair, OCZ memory these are the best I find as they give low latency timings, Motherboard definatly, and also a high speed hard drive with a 16mb buffer cache. All these are essential for building a high speed pc. I built my computer built to the above parameters and did a 3dmark benchtest and it rated at 75900 :)

For having a fast computer it depends what are the applications you are using. On a Intel P-III PC with 256MB RAM Win-98 will be fast, but WIN-XP will slow down your PC. As per present environment I think a Pentium-D with 256MB Ram will be ok. Moreover on a regular basis clean up your computer and clean the registry with a good software. Also please check for spyware as well. As I have no experience on Mac I cannot write anything for them. There are AMD-Athlon based PC's as well.

I think it's a few things involving the speed.

You don't say what kind of slow computer you want to make into a faster computer. But, often as not, it is cheap enough to buy a more modern motherboard with a better processor and add the RAM. If you want the ability to play the newer video games then you should look into better graphics card. Depends on what you are wanting to do.
