I am not happy with my current job. Everyday I think I should put in my papers but then I am always afraid that what's next. How will I manage my expenses if don't have a job in hand. Then I also think that for how long will I be in my comfort zone? If I have to make my career, i have to come out of my present job and look at something bigger, no matter if i invloves a lot of struggle but I have to come out of this damn comfort zone of mine. Please let me know if you are or have gone through a similar situation and what have you done about it.

I love my job, there is no one around to look over my shoulder all the time. My bosses are based in another country, so I am pretty much on my own here and have a couple of people reporting to me and thats it. It does get a little stressful when we don't hit our targets but all jobs have their pros and cons. But I would definately prefer to stay home and make a living online. I am working towards that and hope to acheive it by the end of next year.

Please remember odd as it sounds that it is easier to get a job when you already have one...save as you go even if it is change. That can really add up..I suggest Monster.com or CareerBuilders.com for possible employment. a resume may be in order for you..check out the local job store if there is one..usually with job and family services. If you start your own job remember you have to dedicate yourself to it and stay focused and doing your own self employed taxes could be daunting. I wish you all the luck in your endeavors!

Thanks for letting me know some websites though i have already used them. As I posted my comment, the flaws is not in the job that we do. It's just that we have tobe more innovative and do our jobs differently

Hi there & welcome! I have gone through a similar situation. I had a job which I really didn't enjoy at all. I couldn't leave because I had to pay bills etc. It got so bad that I was diagnosed with depression. Not because I was in a job I hated, but because I had undiagnosed depression and being in that job just brought it all to the surface. I was off work for 6 months and then they told me to come in part time. I got all the jobs that nobody wanted to do - great I thought! Not. Anyway, they thought it might be better if I left and I did. It was very scary not having a job and having a medical condition at the same time. Well, to cut a long story short, hubby & I got the chance to emigrate to Australia and we jumped at the chance. I now work for myself, designing jewellery from home and I feel very very lucky that I am able to do this. It's a new business, so not that much money coming in at the moment, but once I get established I hope to be self supporting again. My advice to you is don't leave work without a plan! LOL

Use your current job as a means to an end. Search or train for something you truly desire. Keep the job you are in until you find the stepping stone to what you want in life. It might not be what you want, but if it is aleast the stepping stone, then you can take comfort in that you are doing something that takes you toward your goals. Right now your current job is taking you to your goals...it is teaching you what you don't want to do an that is one of the greatest lessons along the way. Don't give up what you have until you have found what you are looking for.
