Story of Someone Always

“Someone always loves somebody sometimes somewhat somehow too much, But someday something will let it fades into a lonesome fate…” These words are written in the first page of his journal. His journal, in the sense that it used to be his, and it is full of his writing; but if it is the possession or ownership of the present that determines whose journal it is, then it is now hers. She is reading through this journal, which although used to be his, was intended for her eyes only. For this reason, if anyone ever made known, she is actually the rightful owner of this journal. But nobody knows, at least not until she reads through this journal. And at least, this was what he thought. It is barely a journal, although both he and she call it so. It mostly consists of poems and verses that are too short to be poems. Or maybe, he should have called it his Rubaiyaat, what he once wanted to have one of his own, like Omar Khayyam. But when he mentioned this to her, the word Rubaiyaat was just not compatible with her memory style. She just couldn’t remember it. Then he told himself, he could either switch to call it something else or just forget the idea of ever having one. “Someone always loves somebody sometimes somewhat somehow too much, But someday something will let it fades into a lonesome fate…” She reads out these two lines softly, the way that she thinks he would in one of his sleepless nights. She knows the reason for his sleeplessness. He isn’t someone who would worry too much or indecisive in facing problems in life. The only one thing that could ever really make him worry, was her. HER, as the only her in his life, the only her, whom he loves so much and hurt him as much, and the only her, whom is now reading the Rubaiyaat of him, whom she now realizes should have been her only HIM. Just staring at this first page, at the verses that he had mentioned to her more than a handful of times, but only now realizing the meaning of them, she felt the sort of moist he always talked about in his eyes. But this time, this moist is in her eyes. She finally can feel it.
