My own city is London, UK. I was born there. I love my city, but my favourite city is Paris. I also love Oxford. London is one of the most famous cities in the world today. But there are many others. And of course, it depends in what part of the world a person resides. For some it will be New York; for others, Tokyo, Mumbai, wherever...let's have a discussion about cities. Which are the best. Which are the most famous in the world today.

"Home is where the heart is" Personally I am quite happy to stay in good old Bundaberg, Queensland. I guess after so many years here, and growing with the place, I know it and I'm comfortable. It has everything I need.
I enjoy going to Sydney, but I've never done any of the "tourist" things there. I go because the National Office is there and I am happy to keep working all the time I'm there.
London is an experience, as is Paris, and Geneva, and I loved Heidleberg, but I wouldn't like to live in any of them. I guess I'm not really a city person or an entertainment freak. My favourite places would be the Grampian Mountains here in Australia or the Scottish Highlands. I loved a night on the Isle of Skye.

I would not consider myself an entertainment freak either, although there was a time I was: parties, night clubs, theatres, cinemas, pubs, cafes, bars...oh how I loved them all. But now I enjoy a quiet existence here in deepest suburbia. Only a few miles away from me lies a furiously bustling fashionable town on the edge of London's vast urban sprawl; it's great to visit during the day, but by nightfall, I'm long gone...:o)

I love small towns rather than cities. New England is loaded with quaint little towns. My favorites are in Maine. I love the coastal regions.

Sounds wonderful. I imagine that parts of New England (large cities nothwithstanding) are among those regions in the US most ressembling rural Albion, whence its original inhabitants came all those centuries ago.

My favourite city is "Chennai". This is because it refects the culture and traditions of Tamilans in all ways. Especially this city is constantly strussling to retain its own mother tongue "Tamil" for all it world Tamilans .. Whereever we are on hearing our own mother tongue gives the pleasure .

Thank you for your response, which was interesting to me. I didn't know that Chennai was India's fourth largest city. I went to Wikipedia to read about it. Very interesting. Thanks again. Carl
