Do you give money to beggars?

I would suggest that if you really want to help them give them some food because homeless people cant save money or it will be stolen.

It depends on the situation... If the person who is begging is handicapt or cant work due to some inability, i will help... or else i never help them.. i tell their on face what disease do u have to work... dont beg someone, stand on your feet... if we give them something, they become lazy, so we will take a part in destroyiing our country..and also somebody's future too...

I've never actually given anyone homeless cash but I have given them leftovers wrapped up from a restaurant that I wanted to take home. I don't want them to spend my money on booze. If I knew they were going to get something to eat, I wouldn't have a problem with giving them cash but how do you know they would use it for food??

No, there is a very good reason why though. When I lived in Hawaii there were a bunch. I felt really bad for them, they were mainly children giving the heartstrings a pull with the I haven't eatten in forever drill. I believed it and went on. I started babysitting to make some extra money for college, and what would you know I ended up babysitting in this huge luxurious house for a very wealthy family and found that their child was someone I gave $20 to the day before. He told me after his parents left that they wouldn't give him an allowance so he got mad and got friends together and they went out and did that all day. He told me that most of the people doing that were actually very wealthy and just doing it to get some more money! I was in complete shock! I made him give me back my $20 too! Spoiled kid! I couldn't believe it!

I am very used to giving money to beggars, but its solely depend on that beggars health, age and the way he talks.

I would have to say I know it sound mean but it just doesnt stop there as you can see. There organizations out there to help these kind of people. I would have bought him something to eat.

yes i give money to beggars. But i give money to only those beggars who are physically not fit. I dont give money to beggars who are fit and can earn a living themselves.

well I understan why you did it. i give sometimes to the indians that beg on the street selling their handcrafts. Some beggers actually don't need to beg, but they get stuck in the habit. Isaw proof of this when I trvveled in thailand. But as long as you don't give a alot everytime I don't see why not.

I often give money to beggars. In my place, it is prohibited to give alms to beggars. But sometimes i just feel like giving some coins especially to old beggars. Sometimes, I buy bread and food and give them to the beggars. Some young beggars are just using the coins to gamble. I dont like it.

Also once I was with my husband in car and stopped at the red light one boy came (age around 14-15) and was asking for money. He was perfectly alright to do work... So I asked him... Will you do work at my home and told him that I will give him good cloth, meal and money.... He just said if he gets money without doing any work why would he do and ran away.... So I would advise others also please dun give money to beggars. If they wanna help they can donate money in helpage, orphan, etc... I too donate....

I don't give anything to beggars because I'm thinking that they are being cyndicated. But I rather give to the orphanages.

Noways... i never give money to a beggar if he is fit and healthy to work.. Begging has slowly become a profession.. people find it easy to make money here.. all they need to do is to let go of their self esteem.. I have seen many young and well built men begging.. it really irritates me at times.. why cant they find themselves a job.. why fall down to this low level to make some small money easily..
