I am planning on buying a new TV very soon and am caught between a plasma and projection tv. It used to be that the picture quality was superior on a projection but plasmas were the new technology....neither are so true anymore. I know that plasmas are thinner than the new projection tvs but not by much anymore. Plasmas also still cost about 25% more...is it worth it?

Projection TV, plasma is good only for 5-6 years. I don't think plasma was winning technology.

Good plasma TV's have the best picture, Hands down. I know alot about tv's and its not even a question. And plasmas last longer than 5 years. They last 7-10. And with the ever changing technology, I dont see how that is a big deag. As far as picture quality goes its, Plasma first, followed by LCD, followed by DLP. However they all have dam good HD pictures. It all comes down to what you want to spend. If you are going for a plama go for a panasonic or pioneer. Dont een consider andything else. And the panasonics are the best for the money(alos my favorites). Lcd go for samsung or sony. And DLP go for samsung or Mitsubishi.
