My 14 1/2 month old just bit me for the first time today. When she did it, I put her hand in mine and then very sternly said no biting, biting hurts. She is at such a young age that she is just now learning what no means. I don't believe in biting back and I am going to wait awhile before trying hot sauce or something like that. She hasn't tried biting again so far, but I am sure she will again.

If a parent bites a child back, you could get into trouble and then DHS will be knocking on your door. Biting a child back is abuse.
