Hutspot, as my husband tells me, is a dish that is prepared mainly in the winter months. I have found it to be a simple and hearty dish. INGREDIENTS: 6 onions 6 carrots (large) 8 potatoes 1 kielbasa 1/2 cup milk 4 tablespoons butter salt and pepper to taste INSTRUCTIONS: Peel and cut all vegetables into small pieces and boil together in salted water for about 15 minutes or before vegetables are tender. Add kielbasa and cook until vegetables are tender and kielbasa is heated through. Remove sausages and mash vegetables with milk and butter. Salt and pepper to taste. Place on platter, place kielbasa on top. As the Dutch say "Eet smakelijk!"

that sounds really good I am going to have to try it one day, thanks for posting this recipe. Does it matter what type sausage you use? Like any specific brand or is it your own preference?

We usually use kielbasa. I prefer to use one with a lower fat content.

That actually sounds pretty good. But I'll probably never get to try it unless I make it for myself as my boyfriend doesn't like onions or carrots. But his son will like it. Thanks for sharing that.

YUM, I think I'll try that, I like to use turkey kielbasa because it is lower in fat.
